Laloo's Ice Cream Social Giveaway

There's still time to celebrate National Ice Cream month! Yep, in case you didn't know July is the official month of everybody's favorite frozen treat. And in case you didn't get your fill, now's your chance to go out with a Baaaaa!

Introducing Laloo's, the world's first goat's milk ice cream. Why goat ice cream? It's a good alternative for those who are lactose intolerant. It's also high in protein, a good source of calcium, and hormone free.

Although, I'm not lactose intolerant, I couldn't pass up trying such a extravagant treat. (Laloo's runs $6.99 a pint!) Plus, with fans like Jim Carrey, Jenny McCarthy, Kate Hudson, and more... I figured I'd eat ice cream like the celebrities do.

I was looking forward to getting the WMAG gals together and trying some of Laloo's new flavors: Cajeta and Cherrie Tuilerie. The Cajeta flavor features Mexican Caramel with Texas Toffee frozen yogurt. And Cherries Tuilerie has tiles of dark chocolate with black heart cherries. YUM! Unfortunately, I could only find basic flavors of Vanilla Snowflake and Deep Chocolate. However, you may find additional flavors at your local Wild Oats or Whole Foods store.

The WMAG ice cream social went bust. We couldn't coordinate schedules. But I did try Laloo's myself. What did I think? It was good. I think I would have enjoyed another flavor like Rumplemint, Molasses Tipsycake, or Strawberry Darling more. But for the most part, the Vanilla Snowflake and Deep Chocolate tasted just like it came from the cow. Now it's your turn to try it...

Like many, I've never met an ice cream I didn't like. Just look at my hips.

My favorite all time ice cream treat is Mint Chocolate Chip over brownies.

oh ice cream...how do I love thee? Let me count the ways: I love thee as mint chocolate chip, plain chocolate, and UDF pineapple sherbet and strawberry shortcake. As Ciaobella Coconut Sorbet and Ben & Jerry's chocolate fudge brownie....

But my ultimate favorite is Baskin Robbins chocolate fudge. I would not have survived my pregnancy without the BR across the street from my office. The fact that it was January mattered not at all to me when I was walking back with a pint to keep at my desk "just in case"

I've read about Laloo ice creams...the flavor combos sound amazing! Stella Blue mentioned Ciao Bella coconut sorbet...I totaly agree! Has anyone heard of/tried Jeni's Ice Creams? Made near Columbus, check out her current flavors: http://jenisicecreams.com/0500allflavors.html

Oh, please, oh please, oh please!

My favorite flavor: Banana. So rare to find without other stuff mixed in. I just want fresh, light, lovely Banana ice cream without any distractions of the chocolate or pudding or split variety.

I fell in love (literally) with my guy when I asked him what his favorite flavor was (always a question early on in semi-relationships) and he replied "Banana"! It simply confirmed suspicions that this guy rocked.

We were long distance so once when he came to visit me I took him to the ice cream parlor for a treat: the week prior, I special ordered a gallon of banana ice cream to be made. No dishes. Just a gallon and two spoons.

I've never tried Laloo's before but if the celebs like it I'm sure it's wonderful, and since I'm pregnant ice cream is my favorite! I have to say my favorite ice cream flavor is cake batter, but I really love most all flavors!

Happened by your blog today and what a happy coincidence...It happens to be ice cream month and I'm heavily pregnant, craving ice cream more than usual, in the middle of the night, not sharing with anyone, and not feeling a bit guilty...

Tin Roof Sundae or plain old Strawberry are my favs. But I'll eat anything.

There's a Baskin Robbins flavor called "Gold Medal Ribbon" that has been my favorite since I was a child.

Thanks!

my favorite is Baskin Robbins Pralines n' Cream, but there aren't any more Baskin Robbins around here anymore! But I do like a DQ Butterfinger Blizzard anyday! I've never heard of Laloo's, sounds like it'd be great to try it though.

@micaela - Don't despair! There's a huge new one on Martin Luther King Dr near the intersection with Burnet and Reading Road. "My" Baskin Robbins that helped me survive pregnancy is in Crescent Springs, Ky off of Buttermilk Pike.

A substantial part of my income goes to Cold Stone every summer. My favorite treat there is sweet cream ice cream with Reese's peanut butter cups and Heath bars mixed in. I'm pretty sure eating one of those takes at least a week off my lifespan but it's ooooooh so worth it!

Rocky Road!

uh-oh...forgot to mention favorite flavor, which is really hard to pinpoint! Graeter's vanilla is outstanding, as is Hoffman's fresh banana, Starbuck's Mocha Chip...love them ALL!
